Gamma Radiation Detector Detection BDG2 performs the following functions when connected to the Spectroscopic Radiation Monitor РМ1403: indication of the measured value of DER and DE of gamma radiation; indication of average count rate and measured DER value; programming of BDG2 operation modes.
BDG2 can be used by radiological and isotope tracing laboratories, customs officers, emergency services to search and detect ionizing radiation sources.
Display and control unit cannot be used independently since it is designed to display information when operates together with the external smart probes, to program its operation modes and to identify radionuclide composition.
The instrument indicates the menu and measurement results, stores the accumulated scintillation spectra in its permanent memory, enables communication with PC as well as receives GPS information and transfers data via USB and Bluetooth interfaces.

Operation Principle
A portable multipurpose radiation laboratory PM1402M consists of a processing unit and five external exchangeable radiation detectors. PM1402M can be used for detection and measurement of alpha, beta, gamma and neutron radiation and gamma spectrum accumulation.
The processing unit features a 512 channel analyzer with storage capacity for 110 spectra in its non-volatile memory. The spectra can be downloaded to a PC via RS-232 data port for further data processing and/or radioisotope identification.The portable radiation monitor is equipped with audible and vibration alarms to alert the user of the presence of a radiation source. Additionally, PM1402M is supplied with a telescopic extension tube which is used for detector mounting, inspection of difficult-to-access areas and/or protection of the user from the irradiation exposure by distance.
