Profile: The design of magnetostrictive level transmitter is based on some metals (such as nickel-iron alloy) have the
characteristics of magnetostriction under the role of the intersecting magnetic field, which is called Veidemann
effect. When measuring, the sensor detector sends a start pulse on one terminal of the magnetostrictive waveguide
line, which will form a magnetic field perpendicular to the transmission line, and the magnetic field
transmits following the pulse current along the transmission line at the speed of light. Once the magnetic field
come across the magnetic field produced by the magnetic ring which is set outside the waveguide line, the
intersect magnetic field is formed. The waveguide line produces the transient tension under the role of the
intersecting magnetic field, which will make the waveguide line twisting and producing the twist wave, this twist
wave (the velocity is about the speed of sound) is running along the waveguide, and when it returns to the detector,
it produces the inverse magnetostriction phenomenon, and forms a return electrical pulse on the sensor probe. The
time difference between the transmitting initial pulse and the receiving return pulse is related to the magnetic ring
position, the transmitter transforms the time difference signal (displacement of the magnetic ring) into the standard
current or voltage signal and export. LDT magnetostrictive level transmitter includes two
parts, which are sensor parts and the transmitter
parts. The sensor is consisted of stainless steel
guide rod, magnetostrictionc line, removable magnetic circle (including permanent magnet) and electronics bay.
The sensor part converts the physical signal into the corresponding electrical signal, and then the transmitter part
convert the electrical signal into standard analog signal before output.
